Just posting a video review of my MiniCard theme by Mark Adams I found whilst googling today; some of you might find it interesting to watch.

jQuery is arguably the best Javascript framework available, its my framework of choice anyhow. During development when you need to quickly look up features and functions you can always browse through the online documentation, however, as an alternative there’s the beautifully organised jQuery 1.4 Reference Guide.
The book, written by Jonathan Chaffer & Karl Swedberg, is aimed at developers with at least a basic understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and jQuery; it’s a reference guide, not a manual. Read on for my review.
This week I’ve been trying out the new version of the free wordpress app for the iPhone. I was quite disappointed by the previous version (version 1) as it “lost” some of my drafts. This new version seemed to be a huge improvement, although I still found some problems.
The only iPhone app that lets you write posts, upload photos, edit pages, and manage comments on your blog from your iPhone or iPod Touch.
“Learning jQuery 1.3: Better Interaction Design and Web Development with Simple JavaScript Techniques” is a revised and updated version of the excellent (and previously reviewed) Learning jQuery book by Karl Swedberg and Jonathan Chaffer.
Written for web designers and developers, the book contains thorough tutorials on how to get things done in jQuery, for example, manipulating the DOM, using AJAX, events, plugins, and effects.
If you have tried jQuery (which is a brilliant JavaScript framework by the way) there’s no doubt that you’ve heard of jQuery UI which includes all kinds of user interface widgets, user interaction helpers, and animations, to help make interactive web applications.
jQuery UI 1.6: The User Interface Library for jQuery, written by Dan Wellman, is a book that contains an in-depth explanation of jQuery UI, information on how to use it in the real world, and is also quite handy for reference. Perfect for user interface designers and developers who need to learn to utilise jQuery UI quickly.
JQuery is one of many open-source JavaScript frameworks available; it so happens to be my favorite and is used in many large websites (for example MSNBC) proving it to be one of the best libraries available. You may have noticed that in the past I reviewed Learning jQuery which was aimed at beginners, but for the advanced user, or someone with prior JavaScript knowledge, this may be a tad too basic; if your looking for a more in depth read perhaps the following book is the one for you…
JQuery in Action is a book i have been reading recently which will help you “get up and running with jQuery quickly and efficiently”; it is aimed at novice to advanced users. Read on for my full review.

So I wanted to treat my fiancee to a new laptop for an early christmas present, I shopped around but was then wowed by an offer on Evesham Technology‘s eBay shop. A great spec, far superior to anything else I could get for that price. So me being me, I bought it.
Next day, it arrived. Nice quick delivery. I had a play, when I first got it it had a blue screen, but then seemed fine. Then I tried to play a game… o dear. The system went boiling hot until locking up, every time, whatever game.
It had to go back, it had a 7 day returns policy, it was however Friday night, and no-one was in office until Monday. So i kept my laptop for the weekend, and mailed them just in time for Monday morning. Then the fun really began…

Just a notice to users of the brilliant http://www.sexybookmarks.net/ plugin by shareaholic – If you use tr.im (as I have on a few client sites) be aware tr.im has ceased operation so you may see errors on your blog or in your source code; it screwed up the background and headings on one of my blogs.
To fix, go to sexybookmarks options, switch services in the “Which URL Shortener?” box, and tick the box to reset all short urls. Once done, your blog should return to normal.
