@Elana: Looks like an error with wp-contact plugin, not this one. Until its fixed, you can upload using the downloads panel instead. Admin > Downloads > Add New

Hi I am a wp newbie. I downloaded the zip of your plug in (which looks great) but when I tried that little arrow icon to upload a file for download all I got was this
Warning: require_once(../wp-content/plugins/wp-contact/class.contact.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in D:\Hosting\5603492\html\wordpress\wp-content\plugins\wp-contact\wp-contact.php on line 71
As I said I’m a newbie, so could you please spell out to me what I’m doing wrong.
I downloaded the zip and uploaded it through my wp admin page on a go daddy host in the upload plug in section and then I installed and activated it (with out touching anything else).
I was able to upload files using the side bar but then I’m not quite sure what to do with them (how do I put them on my pages)?
OH I tried a wp download manager before which at first worked OK but then got all wierd on me so I inactivated it and uploaded this one instead.

@shecky: I don't think that is a fix. The code in that section is there to turn relative urls into absolute urls. There was an error though, I had the arguments back to front.

Hi, I recently updated the plugin and I cannot add new or edit posts. When I deactivate the plugin it will work. Is there any way I could fix this?

Hi Mike!

I use your wonderful plugin in my site.
In my site I have some files linked to external url.

In last version (3.3.3.4) I find a little bug:
if file URL is in an external site (file to download don’t reside in the site where plugin is installed), plugin breaks!!!!

I fix it.

In line 520 of download.php, before code:
‘if( !strstr(‘://’, $thefile ) ) {‘
I have added this code:
‘if( strstr(get_bloginfo(‘url’), $thefile ) ) {‘
In line 536 after:
‘}’
I have added:
‘}’

With this change plugin is back to normal functioning.

@Andy Ruffell: It might just be your themes css affecting it. Anyway, you can add your own rules in the themes css file easily enough, example, in mine i have:

div.main-section {
	width:406px !important;
}

@Mike Jolley: Hi Mike, i had a look through but couldn’t find any differences.

I will show you a picture so you can see the difference between the two with the big gap between the thumbnail and the text and how the text isn’t aligned.

Take a look and you’ll see what i mean

@Andy Ruffell: Moved to the left? Hmm that may require editing the files and is beyond css. FYI you can inspect my CSS styles easily using Firebug (firefox) or the built in inspector in safari/chrome.

@Mike Jolley: I did that earlier. I’m guessing you’re talking about download-monitor/page-addon/styles.css and changing the div.main-section from 316? Can i ask what yours is changed to?

Also, upon changing that, i want the Version, Date posted, Downloaded etc… all moved to the left too.
