Yes Mike maybe, but first I have got difficulty to setup the good path for auto scan the directory, and maybe I have done somthing wrong in conf, but could you explain it work if i check free download for non members ?
for sure in DB links are something like ../
I suppose if I put the downlod directory in your script directory it should work as it.

But no worries my goal wase just to do it working for my use and it’s ok after change in code

I have just a suggestion for the log link, you use ws.arin.net,
using http://network-tools.com/default.asp?prog=express&host=
give best informations.

@Christian: The link should not have a relative path like that (no ../) – the file uploader saves links with absolute urls, and the file browser should save links something like /home/public_html/…….etc – where did it get the ../ from in the first place?

Hi Mike,

That’s simple the generated link in case I turn the file for members only is:
http://myweb.com/blog../wp-content/uploadpath/file.zip
if download is turned to free, the link is good, without the ..
Anyway, as I have not many time to lost and offer download only for members, i have changed some peace of code using a preg_replace and it work for me.

@Christian: I don't understand the problem. Perhaps you can mail me the details? I was not aware of any more problems with member files.

This subject is old but seem already not soved.
Same problem free link is good but for members no.
My side if I put
$new = preg_replace(‘/\.\./’,”,$thefile); echo ”.get_bloginfo(‘url’).”.$new.”;
I have now the good link for members

Any solution or update ?

Anyway, you should repeat that for a member only download and see if the file url it reports is wrong. If you don’t want to disclose its url email me instead.

Okay, I added that string to the file… this is what we get now:

File URL: http://www.thereibrain.com/resources/forms/Move%20In%20Move%20Out%20Form.doc – Wordpress URL: http://www.thereibrain.com

It’s just a blank white page that says that.

It shows that even for the user when they are logged in.

Here’s the URL of that download:
http://www.thereibrain.com/rental-property-move-inmove-out-checklist/84/

You of course have to join to be a free member first… then when you go to download it… that stuff above shows.

If you wouldn’t mind… is there a way you can email me when you respond to this thread? I forgot all about it until today.

@Trevor Mauch: Maybe you can help me debug since you have the problem? I just need to you to add this below line 413 of download.php in the plugin folder: echo 'File URL: '.$thefile.' - Wordpress URL: '.get_bloginfo('url'); exit; Just add that, then try a download with the problem. Tell me what it outputs - you can then remove that line of code.

Hey Mike,

Hmmm… I’m having the same problem. We have a bunch of downloads that we had on our server before we started using DL Monitor about a year ago… then, we made them all member only downloads last month… and now all of them are going to “download path invalid” like Manvendra had.

So… what is the final solution to this??? I’ve tried several things… and can’t find the solution…

@Manvendra: If you manually enter the url to the file (and don't use the file browser) does it work correctly? If not I think it may be expecting the url to be within the wordpress installation somewhere.
